“I met with 4 companies to learn about having my fiberglass bathtub removed and a barrier-free shower installed for bathing my adult son in his wheelchair. One company arrived over an hour late for the sales talk and took two weeks to get the quote to me. The other two were prompt, and less expensive than Atlas. Atlas was the only company who took the time to check out the crawlspace of my home to see what condition the floorboards were in. They were also the only company to check out how quickly my bathtub drained (or didn’t). Every problem that they found was corrected. The quality of their products was much higher than the other companies. It was very important to me that my bathroom did not look institutional when it was finished.
Not only was the acrylic more attractive, but the floor of the shower and the foam barrier were much nicer than anything I had seen before. The foam is easily squished by the wheelchair, but rises up and holds the water in the shower. I was also impressed by the use of silver ions as an antimicrobial instead of Triclosan. Ionic silver is sold by our doctor for fighting colds. Triclosan is toxic to the environment and probably to the employees who put it into products such as hand sanitizers, soaps, toothpastes and household products including shower inserts.
Atlas was more expensive than the other companies, but I knew that if I went with another company, I would regret it every time I went into the bathroom. I am so glad I chose Atlas. The bathroom is gorgeous. Dave, the installer, took the time to check each step of the installation. Everything works exactly as it is supposed to. My home was cleaner when he left than when he arrived. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you, Atlas!”
